Sojourners Church exists to make eternally joyful disciples of Jesus Christ through his word in the power of the Spirit to the global glory of God.
We meet at the Skyline Plaza in Albert Lea every Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. for Sunday School and 10:30 a.m. for our worship service. Nursery is available for infants through 3 years old during the service, but we do not currently offer it during the Sunday School hour. A worship service usually includes worship music, prayer, expository preaching, communion, and a response song.
Dress is mainly casual. Jeans are common, but occasionally women will wear skirts or dresses, and men will wear coats and ties.
Who Are We?
Sojourners Church is evangelical, non-denominational, Reformed, and led by a plurality of elders.
We Are Cross-Centered
Our goal is that in all of our teaching, preaching, fellowship, worship, and outreach, Jesus would be front and center in our hearts and minds. We long to see people worship Jesus so that God is glorified and we have eternal joy.
We Are Bible-Driven
Sojourners is committed to shaping all that we teach and do by carefully and comprehensively studying God’s Word. We believe that the Bible provides all that we need for life and godliness. And we believe that God’s Word is what most clearly shows us the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
We Are Sacrament-Focused
Every week there is a time in our service when we take the Lord’s Supper. It reminds us to examine our lives for sin, points us to the hope we have in Jesus for the power to overcome sin in this life, and leaves us rejoicing in the fact that we have a God that came down from heaven and died on the cross to purchase us as his own. We also rejoice in the privilege of baptizing those who have put their faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and are now hoping to live in community with other believers in a way that glorifies God.
